well new year as you already know.. and decided to add a token entry for my blog which it seems i have forsaken for nights of drinking and awesome concerts! well let's see, besides the expected lists of resoultions, i'll give a run down on my life since the last update more than a month and a half ago..

returned from aussie on the 3rd Dec after 4 frantic days of insane credit card abusing, which i felt i could have done much better..
spent time cursing and swearing at BA (brit airways) check in staff for being oh so unprofessional and unsympathetic by making me pay for my luggage which was in excess of the weight limit by a pathetic and measly 1.5 kg which cost me A$80 which was gingerly and very reluctantly handed over cause they witheld my passport and boarding pass, what else was i supposed to do

then it was off straight to NSC during the weekend for the laser radial and 420 champs, where i met ven (my classmate in sec 3 and 4) and caught up on updates, compared places where we could get iPods for the lowest price and not surprisingly sailing gossip dominated most of the conversation

spent the rest doing nothing much, went sailing, watched tv and the most excercise i did for the week besides sailing was getting off my ass to change the channels since i lost the blasted remote in the mess you would call my room

meet up with denise and the loony people, with mugger and roy tossed in at the side - whish was oodles of fun even if i did spend most of the time at the beach comparing the crappy surroundings to the mag beaches of aussie, sigh i miss surfing, and now with the stupid shark attacks my dad's so not gonna let me surf for a bloody long time
headed to the beach in the afternoon where i ate 32 nuggets (i'm disguisting, i know) waiting for nise and the gang to arrive from their base camp, then we had lunch at mac's where we got another 2 boxes of 20 nuggets and then jo and i popped over to the opposite coffee bean and got 5 different cakes for us girls to split, rather displeased that the tiramisu cake was off so had even more nuggets to get rid of the nasty aftertaste (i have an overly unhealthy obession for nuggets, i'm craving for them now as i type this) anyway headed off to the beach after the boys which consisted of bryan, mugger and roy (roy's this crackpot from AC [figues] he didn't mind going back 3 miles on foot just to check out this supposedly hot waitress he spotted earlier)
then we went crazy building castles, triangular based pyramids that resembles teepees more than anything, basically horribly mutilated figures that bear no semblance to the historical landmarks, made this very elaborate and evenly spread out great wall there was even a moat and the ankor wat, with tons of civilsations with taxis, fighter jets and army barracks even a little strip joint! ok you won't get me unless you were there.. i think jo took a couple of pics, as soon as i get it from her i'll post it up, damn we should have done a video instead..
after this we headed off to bugis, where i saw this absolutely darling bag and white tortise shell piece bag (wanted it in clutch) which was slashed from 98 to about 27, which i obsessed if i should get (oh i went back 3 day later and got it, sorry ladies if you wanted it, HA too bad it's mine!!!!!)

jojo and i ended up in tangs since dear ole moi wanted to get shoes (which is all the time) and then we bought these insane large hoops earrings, got her a pair for christmas being ij girls we HAD to get a matching set lol..
couple of days later, went to rouge, YEAH that place rocks with matt, had an obscence amount of drinks there, oh forgive my liver-
1040 boston tea party with 2 vodka shots
11 2 and a half bourbon cokes, gave the bartender a rather disarming smile and he was such a dear to add more more bourbon than usual for a bourbon
11 plus was rocking to the great musical talent of homegrown (ick, how cliched can that term be, oh heck) talent electrico! yay! clap clap cheer cheer! on a scale of 1 to 10 on how great they are as performers, 1 being the worst, 10 the best, i would have to say they're about a hmmmm 679 thrillion, even more as people, ha,
1230 then had drink or two oh and a couple of shots with daniel the mean ass guitarist, i swear he's a guitar god, then chatted incessently with him, think he might have wanted to kill himself during that, then again i could be mistaken, he might have found me amusing, shush, can't i be in denial?
late 1 plus, you think i'll know the time but now??? asked the bartender for 'the strongest stuff they have to offer, legal or not' downed 2 flaming lambourghinis follwed by another tequlia shot, can almost hear my liver swear and curse vehemently at me, oh wait maybe that's the alcohol talking, maybe it's not..
the bartender once again was simply darling, for dear ole moi, he specially extended the drinks special for me for over an hour, so there i was happily pumping myself with alcohol with reckless abandoment

later headed back to the dance floor, to armchair, they're an amazing band from thailand, hmmm shall go and get their album asap
after every few drinks, matt and i popped to the toilet for water, and don't tell him this, but while he was in the little boys room, i slinked back to the bar and ordered another 2 gin shots and barbados rum, and he was none the wiser though he might have suspected i had a fair bit to drink cause i was starting to ramble but those who know me, that's just me.. oh god i should be sent to AA for liver abuse
went to korea (land of winter sonata, bae yong juun, kimchi, gingseng, ugly guys... i don't think there's anything else to it), for slighty over a week, spent first christmas away from the family, anyway seriously fellas if you think your girl's taking you for granted, send her to korea and she'll come back think you're a hottie then again so would half the population of singaporean guys.. UGH the guys there are so *hack hack cough cough, choking on my guts* the only thing i liked about the country was well NOTHING, ok i lie, i loved skiiing, cause i'm really a snow sport person, snowboarding YEAH MAN! besides i quite love the cold but loathe/abhor/detest the extreme humidity or more like the lack of it, and everything else about korea, except SHOPPPPPPPPPING!!! yay, i so have to go back and shop, oh wait that's what thailand is for.. ok but korea does have the cute spastic teddy socks i got, i so have to show you them, it's SO CUTE!! gosh i seriously need to expand my vocab then..

then at our last night in the ultra luxurious and swanky ritz i was more than horrified hearing bout the tsunami that devasted practically everything, you know, it was suposed to be US there! we had originally planned to go phuket before chrsitmas till new year caused i loved every single minute i was there when we used to spend a fairly significant part of our dec holidays there, OH GOD! banyan tree is equal to sinful total decadance as a child i never knew how freaking obscenely expensive it was to stay there, AND FOR 6 DAYS!! killer bills, that was in the day when our parents really spulrged on our vacations, i remebered i went to the beach and played monopoly oh nevermind..
returned oh so willing back to singapore, i'm so grateful to be back to wear tank tops and shorts instead of being bundled up in 4,5 layers and constantly applying lotion every so often to my poor abused dried out legs..
hmmmm then it was NEW YEARS! oh joy! whoopee, went for the electrico concerts at the esplanade, no seriously i know this is gonna haunt me in years to come that, i of all people, admit to listening and actually enjoying local music, but i swear they're so damn freaking good, not to mention are really nice people to boot, went for a couple of drinks and have become an avid fan of harry's bar blue margarita, yummers, hmmm craving for one now, OH NO, stop the alcoholic urges san! like now!!
shall update more later for what's been going down this year

Credi in Te. Aspirations:

In all honesty, my dream since i was 12 is to be a museum curator in Europe.
To be surrounded by all the magnificient masterpieces and immersed in all the inspirational art history of those glorious days oh so very long ago.
Much to my surprise, my mom is very encouraging and supportive of that.
She had a good nature rib at it, and wasn't scathing or critical of it. i half expected her to say it's a stupid impractical frivalous aspiration but she even talked about it somewhat animatedly. Insists that it's such a typical Sandra aspiration for a cushy artsy sophisticated job.
Of course this revelation got my family exclaiming our catchphrase of 'so HC'.
She's (as does my whole family) have always known my love for art history, and it's something i have the passion for.
When i first stood in front of an actual van Gogh painting, tears started welling up in my eyes.
I was so overwhelmed, felt this connection to the painting, not just as a piece of work. it was a piece of someone's soul, their life, their torment, their dejection, their pursuit to be one step closer to God's, a fragment of everything they've ever experienced. That moment transcended anything i've ever felt.
